In 1983, ʻAha Pūnana Leo was created as a grassroots effort with the sole purpose of reviving ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi. Now, ʻAha Pūnana Leo serves as a local, national and international model for language revitalization. Over the past several decades, ʻAha Pūnana Leo established and built numerous programs throughout the islands, helped to lift a 90-year ban on teaching Hawaiian in public and private schools, advocated for other indigenous people and raised awareness about the consequences of the loss of indigenous languages.

Child & Family Service (CFS) is a community-based organization with a mission of strengthening families and fostering the healthy development of children. CFS statewide community programs include preschool education, prevention of child abuse and neglect, programs for at-risk youth, domestic violence emergency services, therapeutic counseling, employment assistance, programs for elder care, and more.

The Domestic Violence Action Center (DVAC) is dedicated to alleviating the problem of domestic abuse in Hawaiʻi. DVAC is the only agency in the State that accepts large numbers of high-risk divorce, temporary restraining order, post-decree, and paternity cases. DVAC is also the only agency in the community with a full complement of services to assist as a victim navigates the system and moves her (his) life to freedom and self-sufficiency. With advocates accompanying victims to court, seeking financial support, pursuing educational goals, obtaining child support, or maneuvering the military, medical or mental health systems a victim is empowered and closer to safety if she is working with one of our programs.

The Girl Scouts of Hawai‘i (GSH) mission is to "build girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place," empowering each to become a G.I.R.L. - Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader. GSH flagship program, Girl Scout Leadership Experience, offers age-based journeys that develop skills in the four pillars of STEM, the Outdoors, Life Skills, and Entrepreneurship. These skills are backed by hands-on activities like STEM Fests, overnight camps, and after-school leadership initiatives.

The Hawai'i Health & Harm Reduction Center serves Hawai’i communities by reducing the harm and fighting the stigma of HIV, hepatitis, homelessness, substance use, mental illness, and poverty in our community. They focus efforts on those disproportionately affected by social determinants of health, including but not limited to: people living with and/or affected by HIV, hepatitis, substance use, and the transgender, LGBQ and the Native Hawaiian communities. They foster health, wellness, and systemic change in Hawai’i and the Pacific through care services, advocacy, training, prevention, education, and capacity building.
